FortnoxAI for accounting firms

Your firm's fastest route through Fortnox

Nordsynk is AI for accounting firms running the books for many clients in Fortnox. A consultant says what needs to happen — approve and post the supplier invoices, create the monthly invoices, reconcile the period — and Nordsynk carries it out in the right Fortnox company. By default, each change opens a browser approval preview; a company can enable auto-approve for immediate execution. Fortnox permissions and Nordsynk access policies still apply.

The firm account and billing are handled directly by Nordsynk. Each client company is connected separately in Fortnox with a real human user — no API keys to manage.

The problem: the same steps, multiplied by every client

The work at a firm rarely differs between clients. The same supplier invoices need approving and posting, the same monthly invoices need creating and sending, the same period needs reconciling — just in a different Fortnox company. Each step is small. It's the repetition that costs: invoices taken one at a time, clients taken one at a time, and none of it billable to anyone.

Fortnox has already solved the overview. With Digital byrå, the whole client book sits under the firm's login, and the activity list shows what needs doing, by whom, and when. But the list doesn't do anything. It knows a supplier invoice has arrived — it doesn't approve it, doesn't post it, and has no opinion on whether the amount looks wrong. What's left is the actual doing, and a firm with fifteen engagements easily loses a full working day a week to steps that are identical every time.

One combined answer from every connected client company, in a single message.

The question is as simple for three clients as for fifteen. It's the repetition, company by company, that costs time.

One chat, every client

Nordsynk uses the same secure Fortnox connection described for our Fortnox MCP server — and with a Nordsynk agreement, the firm gets its own access controls and billing directly from Nordsynk. Each new client that connects is added to the same workspace instead of becoming another login to keep track of. From there, you ask the question in Claude or ChatGPT like any other conversation — the same connection also works in Cursor and other AI assistants, if the firm already uses one of them for other work.

If the firm has only one active client, the question alone is enough: "What's the balance on accounts payable?" With several clients connected, name the client in the question, or ask which companies are connected if you're not sure. Ask a question that spans every client — which ones have overdue customer invoices, say — and Nordsynk searches every connected company for you and rolls the answer into a single message. You never switch tabs to get it.

Adding a new client is the same as connecting the client company: an authorized team member signs in with that company's Fortnox account once, and the company shows up as a new option in the firm's workspace — ready to be governed and restricted like any other client company.

Built for a firm's control requirements

A firm opening Fortnox access to its whole team needs to be able to answer three questions: who accessed what, who was allowed to do what, and how each change was handled. Nordsynk runs on access policies that control which clients and operations each team member can reach — a newly hired consultant might get read access to three client companies while a partner has write or admin access to all of them.

By default, a clear browser preview appears before Nordsynk posts, creates, or changes anything in Fortnox. A company can enable auto-approve for immediate execution; Fortnox permissions and Nordsynk access policies apply in either mode. Activity is recorded in the firm's history, so you can review what happened in each client company.

It works just as fast in the other direction. When a consultant leaves, you revoke that person's client access, and the next question from that account no longer gets answered — no matter how many client companies they used to reach.

What firms use it for

Four examples of what firm consultants actually ask Nordsynk, drawn from how accounting firms use it in practice:

"Approve and post the OCR-read supplier invoices for Client AB."

The whole stack handled from one instruction — in the default mode, you review the browser preview before anything is written. Company-scoped auto-approve can run changes immediately.

"Create and send the monthly invoices to our retainer clients, using last month's rows."

Recurring invoicing run in the right company, with a browser approval preview by default or immediate execution if that company has auto-approve enabled.

"Which clients have customer invoices more than 30 days overdue right now?"

One answer pulled from every connected client company instead of a company-by-company review.

"Export a SIE file for Client AB for fiscal year 2025, ready to send to the auditor."

SIE export for the closing client without hunting for the export function in that specific company.

Every example above is the same kind of question a consultant would otherwise solve by hand, company by company — now answered directly in the tool the consultant already has open.

Licensing for firms

With a Nordsynk agreement, the standard setup normally costs SEK 149 per active connected client company per month with volume discounts, plus a fixed base fee that covers every consultant and user. Disconnected client companies aren't billed, and no consultant needs a separate Nordsynk Marketplace licence per client company.

Standard subscriptions are billed directly by Nordsynk through Stripe. Pilot customers and larger firms can instead get a fixed custom agreement with included users and client companies. Fortnox is used to connect each client company, not to bill the Nordsynk agreement. The full pricing model and what's included is on the Nordsynk agreement pricing page.

Frequently asked questions about AI for accounting firms

How do I switch between clients?

You usually don't need to switch at all: name the client in the question, and Nordsynk points it at the right Fortnox company. Not sure which companies are connected? Just ask which clients exist, and a question that spans every client gets searched across every connected company for you.

Can I limit what a team member is allowed to do?

Yes. Every team member gets access per client company — read, write, or admin. By default, changes open a browser approval preview; a company can enable auto-approve for immediate execution. Fortnox permissions and Nordsynk access policies still apply. Sensitive areas like HR and payroll can also be blocked separately for an individual client company.

How is licensing counted for a firm?

With a Nordsynk agreement, the standard setup costs SEK 149 per active connected client company per month with volume discounts, plus a fixed base fee that covers every consultant. Disconnected client companies aren't billed, and no separate Nordsynk Marketplace seat is needed per consultant and company. Larger firms and pilot customers can get a fixed custom agreement with their own user and company limits.
