AI for Fortnox bookkeepingAutomate bookkeeping — without losing control
Nordsynk connects Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor to the full Fortnox API. Supplier invoices are interpreted, coded, and approved by AI, customer invoices are created and emailed, SIE files are exported on request, and reports come back in plain language. In the default mode, every change waits for your approval; a company can instead enable auto-approve. Built for the owner of a small or mid-sized company, or whoever manages the books for one, who wants to spend less time on recurring admin without giving up control.
From 199 SEK per Fortnox company and user/month, with no self-hosting or separate login.
What can be automated today?
Four workflows are built, tested, and used by customers in Fortnox every day. Anything else you ask for goes through the same AI agent, but these four are what actually automates bookkeeping work today — not a future roadmap.
Supplier invoices — from inbox to approval
Invoices that land in the Fortnox inbox get OCR-interpreted automatically and turn into automation rows you can ask about directly in chat. The agent proposes account coding based on supplier, amount, and how that supplier has been coded before, registers the invoice in Fortnox, and sends it on for approval or bookkeeping sign-off. You can approve directly in chat, or ask the agent to gather everything waiting on your sign-off instead of opening the inbox and scrolling row by row.

Customer invoices — create, code, email
Describe the invoice in plain language: customer, rows, quantity, and price. Nordsynk fills in accounts and VAT, links the right customer number, and drafts it in Fortnox. In the default mode, the invoice is booked and emailed as soon as you approve it; with per-company auto-approve, it is sent immediately — no form to open and no account code to look up yourself.

SIE export and reconciliation
Export SIE files for any financial year directly in chat, for example ahead of a year-end close or an audit. Ask the agent to compare periods or flag accounts that deviate from the prior year — the numbers come from the same bookkeeping data that lives in Fortnox, so you don't have to open a single Fortnox view or download the file by hand to find the difference.
› Export SIE for 2025 and compare balances to 2024
Reports and summaries in plain language
Ask about revenue, account balances, unpaid invoices, or results by period, and get the answer as text in the thread. The numbers are pulled live from Fortnox every time you ask, so you're never working off a stale export sheet or a report nobody updated last quarter.

What should NOT be automated?
Approval policy. Under Swedish bookkeeping law (bokföringslagen), you — not an AI agent — remain responsible for your bookkeeping being correct, complete, and properly retained. In the default mode, you review and approve every pending change before Fortnox changes. A company can instead enable auto-approve, which lets changes from the connected AI assistant execute without another approval click. Fortnox permissions, Nordsynk access policy, request validation, and audit logging still apply.
Auto-approve is a deliberate delegation setting, not a removal of responsibility. Review each change manually when you want to see exactly what's happening, and enable auto-approve only for companies and users where immediate execution is appropriate.

How it works
Three steps, no code, and no API keys to manage yourself.
1. Activate in the Fortnox portal
Nordsynk is activated as a Fortnox Marketplace app by an agency lead or whoever manages the books. You sign in with your regular Fortnox account via OAuth 2.0 — no separate password to manage, no server to run yourself, and no extra system to keep track of alongside Fortnox.
2. Connect Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor
Add Nordsynk's MCP server to your AI assistant. It takes under a minute, requires no code, and works with any client that supports MCP — the same server for the whole team, whichever client each person picks.
3. Write what you want to do
Ask a question or request an action in plain language, the way you'd write to a colleague. The agent fetches what it needs from Fortnox and proposes the next step. In the default mode it waits for your approval before anything changes; if auto-approve is enabled for this company, the change executes immediately instead.

| No. | Date | Supplier | Amount |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1031 | 4 Mar | Telia | 1 249 |
| 1036 | 12 Mar | Bring | 4 800 |
| 1040 | 27 Mar | Kvarnen AB | 12 500 |
Automation with control
Every change Nordsynk proposes — a new voucher, an approved invoice, an updated account coding — is stored with the full content visible: account, amount, counterparty, and date. In the default mode, you approve or decline exactly what's there. If per-company auto-approve is enabled, the change executes immediately instead, while the proposal and outcome are still recorded. You can't edit the amount or account directly on the approval screen: if something is wrong, you decline and ask the agent for a new proposal instead. That keeps every decision traceable — what was approved or auto-approved is exactly what was booked, never an edited variant of it.
All activity is collected in an audit history you can revisit later — which account, which amount, which user, and when — and Fortnox's own permissions govern what each user can see and do. Nordsynk doesn't add its own permission model on top of Fortnox; it reuses the one already in your Fortnox company, so a user with restricted access in Fortnox has the same restriction in Nordsynk.

Pricing
199 SEK per Fortnox company and user, per month. Billed directly via Fortnox Marketplace, alongside the rest of your Fortnox fees — no separate invoice, no separate card, and no extra contract to track beyond your Fortnox subscription.
The price applies per Fortnox company and user. If the same person works in several Fortnox companies, you need a license in each company — one license doesn't cover multiple companies at once, even if it's the same person and the same Fortnox login being used.
Frequently asked questions about automating bookkeeping
Can bookkeeping be fully automated?
Every change in Fortnox starts with a proposal from your AI assistant. By default, it also requires your approval before it is saved; a company can enable auto-approve to execute those changes immediately. Fortnox permissions, Nordsynk access policy, validation, and audit logging still apply, and you remain responsible for the bookkeeping under Swedish law.
Does it work with Fortnox?
Yes. Nordsynk is built specifically for Fortnox and is activated directly in the Fortnox portal using Fortnox OAuth 2.0. It isn't a generic bookkeeping integration that happens to support Fortnox alongside other systems — Fortnox is the whole platform, and the entire Fortnox API is reachable through the same connection.
What does it cost?
199 SEK per Fortnox company and user per month, billed via Fortnox Marketplace alongside your other Fortnox fees — no separate payment or setup fee.
Do I need to know APIs?
No. You write what you want to do in plain language in Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor, much like the prompts on this page. No code, no API keys, and no integrations to configure yourself — Nordsynk handles the connection to Fortnox for you.
