Activate Nordsynk Expenses

Here is what happens. You log in to Fortnox, choose what Nordsynk Expenses may read, and then invite the people who submit expenses and the people who authorize them.

01

What happens

  1. 01

You log in to Fortnox and approve the permissions below. If the company has several Fortnox companies, you choose which one to activate.

  2. 02

Nordsynk Expenses fetches the company details from Fortnox: chart of accounts, voucher series, cost centres, projects and, if you use it, employees in Fortnox Payroll.

  3. 03

You choose categories and accounts and invite the people and the approvers. The person who submits an expense does not need a Fortnox user.

  4. 04

Email or photograph a first receipt. It becomes your first expense in Nordsynk Expenses.

Nothing is booked in Fortnox until the expense is authorized.

02

Permissions in Fortnox

Nordsynk Expenses asks for these permissions when you log in. Here is what each group is used for.

  • Bookkeeping and archive: read the chart of accounts and voucher series, create vouchers and attach receipt files.
  • Company details: company name, financial year, currency, cost centres and projects, so the settings are filled in from Fortnox.
  • Payroll: Nordsynk Expenses reads the name and email address of employees in Fortnox Payroll and adds rows for mileage, per diem and expenses to the next payroll run. Nordsynk Expenses does not read salaries, and personal identity numbers and bank accounts are not stored.
  • Suppliers: used only if you want to pay an expense back as a supplier invoice to the employee. Otherwise it is not used.

Nordsynk never gets your Fortnox password.
